Here's the whole group of fair ladies. We look like a sunglasses ad (no white glasses for Mallory!)

Mallory and I went with her friends to go see Leanne Rimes at the fair. Too bad we took a photo of us instead of her!

We have way too much lift off!

One the way home from our Oregon/Washington trip...

Mom, Mallory and I pulled up to Portland International and got all of our suitcases out of the rental car and entered the terminal. Mallory complained of her luggage being too heavy and I flashed back to the hotel that morning where she had to sit on her suitcase in order to make it close. Finally able to zip it, she said “I hope no one asks me to open it!”

When we got inside the terminal we saw that we had to check in upstairs. There was an elevator around the corner, but an escalator right ahead of us. Mom asked “which one?” I hurriedly said “Escalator,” hoping to get the show on the road (er, or runway). Mom and Mallory hopped on the escalator and stated the ascent. I however, realized I was carrying 2 suitcases and was having a hard time, wondering, “do I step first then drag them both behind me, or put one on first and drag the second?” Pictures of me falling all over myself and the luggage entered my mind. It was incredible how hard of a decision it was just to get on the moving stairs. When a lady passed me to ask “can I help you?” I finally breathed and said, “No, I got this.”

One lift of the luggage with one step and one pulled behind me…. Ah, there. It was that easy and now the electricity was doing all the work for me.

And then I looked up. I am now sure if I heard the “oh no!” first or just saw the tumbling pink GIGANTIC suitcase as it bumped and bounced (quite high) down the escalator. My first reaction was anger. Had my sister let her luggage go in a lackadaisical fashion and now I was to deal with her laziness? I looked down and realized that there no way to let go of my own bags to try and stop the wayward one, so I did what any normal person would do. I steeled my body to accept the blow, knowing that I couldn’t let it push me backward (I was afraid of my long hair getting caught in the grooves!!!!). On the last bounce I closed my eyes and it hit my forearm and the bag in front of me and came to a stop. As I opened one eye and then the other, I could picture the people watching and what they were thinking, so I turned around away from the crown and laughed and laughed. When I reached the top, mom was helpful to grab the wayword bag, while Mallory was doubled over laughing trying to show me the handle still in her hand. It had broken off when she tried to lift it up off of the last stair. I told her that that broken handle just saved her life because I was ready to pummel her. We were still giggling as we walked to our gate. I exclaimed “well, we might as well get on the plane now because I am not scared anymore.” Looks like all my strengthen training paid off. Nah, I am pretty sure it was a save by my guardian angel, who is quite busy these days.

Tagged

I have been tagged to share 8 facts or habits about myself.....so here goes! The rules: Each player lists 8 little known facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
1) I could sit for hours and look at color and color swatches. My friend told me that its impossible to memorize color and I have been trying to prove that wrong.
2) I am clausterphoic and afraid of heights. So, give me level, wide open spaces and I am good.
3) If calories meant nothing, I would eat at Chili's at least twice a day and ice cream for the rest of my meals.
4) I never wanted to be good at one thing, but many things. My top goals are to: write one movie screenplay or a just one good book that people can't stop talking about, learn to play the keyboard and be a singer at house parties, learn a foreign language just because, and remodel my own house someday.
5) I have always wanted my nose pierced, but am deathly afraid.
6) I am best friends with my first boyfriends wife. It's obviously a long story, but we both contend that a great friendship is worth having over any boy issues. It helps that they are both 2 of the coolest people (non family) I know.
7) In the winter I am cold, cranky and miserable-- it's bring my life to almost a halt. The summer months turn me into a completely different person. Wait, that's not a little known fact about me??? Guess I am more obvious than I thought.
8) In my two movie experenices, each time I met a guy who was our comedy/entertainment for the day. Both guys were just on Last Comic Standing, and one made it to the finals (Dante). So far my Hollywood ventures have been more than rewarding!

Bonus: I just thought of one on my way back from lunch. When I drop off my dry cleaning, I am always afraid of leaving my panties in the pants that I leave and when I come and pick up my clothes, my laundered panties will be waiting for me on a hanger. At least the thought of it makes me laugh!!!

I have no one to tag! Everyone I know who reads this has already been tagged :)

I went down on a last minute trip to LA this past weekend (sorry Auntie Marlene, I did not make it down as far as you!) and stayed with my friend Alison and her husband. I know her from the college group here in town and she got married in May and left me for LA. So, by visiting I could bring home back to her. It was a great weeked of shopping, sight seeing, and star gazing (unforunately I look to look in the skies for star because there weren't any celebrities where I was at). In other news, I checked the American Idol website and the CA audition are in San Diego on July 30th. I can't believe they are this early! With my LA trip and Oregon next weekend, I think I am going to forgo my idol redo this year. My are they gonna miss me! :)
