Ring around the Posey
Me and the two flower girl models, Anya and Emma, had about as much fun as you can in the armpit of California. They were sassy girls and we ended up getting to walk together on the runway when the littlest said "I want to walk with you!" It made my heart squeeze. Please no comments on how giant looking I am.
Runaway Brides
If you're going to San Francisco...
So, I have family getting married for real and I am still pretending. I modeled for the last time (I think... and hope) this weekend in Fresno. I was a really fun show, but the groom models were about 16. I decided that I need to retire when the average age is a decade younger than me. Time to let the young'ns dress up!
Patty Cake, Baby Cake
I went to 2 baby showers this past Saturday before noon. One was for my friend who is having triplets and the other is for my coworker/friend who is having her first child in October. It's all so exciting because both of these pregnancies are overshadowing a time when each of these mommies thought that they could not have their own children. So yay for God!!!! He is producing miracles left and right. My coworker, Shawna, decided to have other dessert at her shower instead of a cake and was worried that people might miss the "cake" So... I made her one for the present. It turned out to be the prefect gift holder!

Shirt Happens
Sweat is for boys, glow is for girls!
Hollywood Squares
Tomato Bisque
I just found this. This is Emily's room after. We had painted this room in early July and it was the same blue that's in Mer's room. That day I was up for the task, priming the whole room, painting the ceiling white, and adding the finishing "tomato bisque" color. She loves it. And I stare at this room whenever I start to think that I am a lazy person. Lies!
Meredith standing in her "I'm so too cool for a lime green and blue room" while Emily is coming up the stairs to help. We had to primer the entire room white to add the cream and taupe colors on top. I could only help with the white and the first gallon of cream before cramps threatened to undo me. Poor Kevin had a hurting woman on his hands, who was supposed to be surpervising Mer, Em and their friends that came to help paint the room, but I could not think past the pain I was in. Worse yet was my frustration at not being able to do what I set out to do. Luckily, Kevin was understanding and let me rest. We left to get a smootie at some point and that is where I got the wasp sting (see below). What a weekend!

Paper or plastic?
I got up this morning and went to pack my lunch. I looked for the brown bag that I used yesterday. Never ever have I done that-- reused my brown paper lunch bag-- but I figured that it was clean having only housed a couple 100 calorie packs and a yogurt the day before. Oh and a tea bag. But since I would have to go back to my room for said bag, I thought, "What are the bags like 50 for $2??? Use a new one!" So I pulled a fresh one from the drawer and packed my lunch.
On my way out the door, I looked up over the kitchen sink and there it was. A gallon size ziplock bag that had been washed out and was now drying on the rack with the dish towels. Never have I seen my mother do that before, but there it was-- the reuseable plastic bag that was not supposed to be reusable.
What a glimpse into the future. Today I promised myself that I will not collect squares of foil for reuse or ask people if they are done with their plastic forks because "a hot wash will make them good as new again!"
On the same note, have you heard about these bags called "I am not a Plastic Bag"? They are selling out all over the world as a statement to use it as a grocery bag. It's very "green" which is in these days. They look plain and are made of material:
I'm make my own statement bag, not buy a commercial one. It will probably say "Don't let me buy ice cream."

I don't have the picture uploaded yet of my weekend with the Kevin and the Friesen kids. We took photos of Merediths room, before and during (it's not done yet so there is no after). But what I DO have is a camera phone picture of my pinky fingers. The one of the left was stung by a wasp during my weekend in San Jose outside of the smoothie place that Kevin and I escaped to when painting got too overwhelming. My finger is even more swollen now, and it's soaking in windex to try and stop the itch. Are there any more remedies out there that I could use??

I went to Walnut Creek friday-saturday and spent the day with friends talking, laughing, and eating. A TON of eating. Here we are at our favorite place called PF Changs, where we order way too much and put it in the middle, then eat until we can't move. Pictured here is Nicole, Diana, Victoria and Jen.
